Products Whose Export is Prohibited in Türkiye.

Many countries have certain additional products whose shipment is prohibited or subject to restrictions, as regulations vary from country to country.
Acting in accordance with the government regulations or laws determined and in force by the decision-making mechanisms of countries is the responsibility of the carrier company.
Therefore, in Turkey as well, there are materials that are prohibited or restricted for export as determined by the ministry.
Accordingly, it is recommended that companies that will carry out transportation review the lists of products that are prohibited from import and export for each country.
Therefore, merchants who want to ship abroad must pay attention to products that are prohibited by law.

What Are the Materials Prohibited from Export from Turkey?

If we list the goods and materials whose export is prohibited by the Ministry;

  • Liquidambar (Liquidambar orientalis)
  • Indian hemp
  • Tobacco seeds and seedlings
  • Cultural and natural assets (antiquities)
  • Wood
  • Salep (powder, tablet, and all forms)
  • Yalankoz (Pterocarya carpinifolia)
  • Export of walnut, mulberry, cherry, pear, plum, peach, medlar, hackberry, and linden tree species in the form of logs, stumps, timber, planks, scantlings, and sleepers
  • Datça date palm (Phoenix theophrasti center)
  • All domestic and wild animals (live or non-living, including the smallest identifiable parts and ready-made garments produced from them), except for the species included in the list of goods subject to export with prior permission
  • Naturally collected flower bulbs
  • Olive (except for varieties that are registered and published in the National Variety List and certified domestically), fig (except for varieties that are registered and published in the National Variety List and certified domestically), hazelnut, pistachio, quince, grape (sultani seedless) saplings

Another issue to be considered besides products prohibited from export is the rules of the country where the material will be delivered.
These products determined by the Ministry of Trade only cover Turkey’s export procedures.
However, just as there are restrictions on some products entering Turkey, each country also has its own import rules that include product prohibitions or restrictions.
For this reason, when exporting materials, the rules covering the exported materials according to the destination country must definitely be researched carefully.
