VAT Refund in Micro-Exports

One of the most important advantages of micro export is that you can receive a VAT refund. When you carry out micro export with QuickShipper, the ETGB form approved within 1–2 business days is sent to you, and a VAT refund can be obtained through your accountant. After obtaining the printout of the ETGB, which has been electronically approved by the customs authority and transferred to the VEDOP (Tax Offices Automation Project) system, by checking the “ETGB” box in the system, you can apply for a VAT refund by submitting this printout to the tax office.

Your accountant can perform this process via the “Declaration Inquiry” page.

In addition, in order to receive the VAT refund for the micro export you have carried out, it will be sufficient to submit the following documents to the relevant tax office via the online tax office system:

  1. The customs declaration approved by customs, including the list issued by the postal administration or cargo company, in which your name appears in the attached goods list,

  2. The list of sales invoices,

  3. The lists of deductible and incurred value-added tax,

  4. A table showing the calculations related to the amount of tax included in the exported goods.

When Can You Apply for a VAT Refund?

Declarations issued electronically (ETGB) are registered in the system within 24 hours after the aircraft departs. Once they are registered in the system, you can immediately apply for a VAT refund.

How Are Customs Duties Collected for Products Covered by ETGB?

Customs duties related to export shipments are collected by the air cargo company and are paid within 7 business days following the delivery of the goods to the air cargo operator.

How Is ETGB Inquiry Performed?

To make an ETGB inquiry, you must first visit the website of the company that carried out your express cargo transportation process. Then, by entering the master airway bill number into the empty field on the declaration inquiry screen and clicking the “Search” button, you will complete the ETGB inquiry. Through this inquiry, you can access the declaration number and date.

You can contact us to carry out ETGB inquiries for your international shipments made with QuickShipper.

As a result of this inquiry process, individuals or institutions that perform micro export gain the right to receive a VAT refund. However, since there are no printed documents or declarations such as VAT copies during express export processes, proof-related issues may arise in some cases. In such situations, individuals or institutions can prove that they have carried out a micro export transaction through the declaration number and date obtained after completing the inquiry process.
